Dr. Lauren Parr knew she wanted to be a veterinarian from the young age of five. Her passion stems from a combined love for helping both people and animals, alongside a deep fascination with the life sciences. As she grew, she discovered a talent for solving puzzles, which drew her to the complexities and logical nature of medical challenges in biology.
Following high school, Dr. Parr pursued her undergraduate studies in Bio-Veterinary Science at Dalhousie Agricultural Campus. After two years, she was accepted into the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2024.
Upon graduation, Dr. Parr immediately immersed herself in the fast-paced field of emergency medicine. After a year in the ER, she transitioned to general practice. While she maintains a strong passion for emergency cases, Dr. Parr was drawn to the opportunity for routine. She now enjoys lasting, long-term relationships with her patients and their families. She has special interests in surgery, ultrasound, emergencies, analgesia, and chronic disease management. Dr. Parr thoroughly enjoys the continuity of care that general practice provides, allowing her to follow a pet’s complete medical history and journey to wellness. She has a deep love for her feline patients especially. She strives to provide excellent care to all patients and support their families.
In her spare time, Dr. Parr loves reading, trying new restaurants and activities, and spending quality time with her family and her three cats: Minerva, Athena, and Persephone.
